Personal Coaching focuses on any aspect of your life that you would like to improve by making small changes at a pace that you are comfortable with. For example, helping you become more assertive with your friends and family; enabling you to tackle people and situations you have avoided and helping you overcome a personal block such as being more sociable. Other difficulties might include stress, time management, confidence issues, overcoming negative thinking, perfectionism and dealing with work related difficulties.
Personal coaching covers many areas and is very practical for immediate action. The coachee has to have the motivation however and this isn’t something the coach can assist with.
The way we think about events in our life affects the way we feel and consequently affects the way we behave. Cognitive behavioural coaching is based on the theories behind cognitive behavioural therapy.Cognitions (our thinking) affect our feeling and behaviours. CBC doesn’t offer a quick fix solution but it emphasizes that you need commitment and persistence to achieve change in your life.
